In December 24, 2013 a research ship “Academician Shokalskiy” was blocked in the Antarctic by the iceberg. Some powerful ships came to help it out, but the Chinese and the French icebreakers failed to break the three meters ice as well as “Aurora Australis” that was especially hoped for.
