MOSCOW, December 8 (RIA Novosti) – The Communist Party's deputy with Russia’s lower house of parliament reported to Moscow police Saturday that he had been beaten at a restaurant in the capital’s downtown.

Lawmaker of the State Duma Denis Voronenkov, 42, told the officials that a man attacked him while he was dining on Friday night, the city police reported on Saturday.

The police didn’t identify the attacker. Tabloid web site Life News reported that the man was an acquaintance of Voronenkov and a former officer of the Federal Security Service (FSB).

The two were sitting together at restaurant Courchevel when an argument between them erupted, the report said.

Earlier this week, two other Duma lawmakers of the ruling United Russia party, Alexei Zhuravlyov and Adam Delimkhanov, had a fight in the parliament's building that reportedly ended when a gold-plated pistol fell out of the latter’s pocket.
