2013/12/16

MOSCOW, December 16 (RIA Novosti) – Two armored car guards apparently shot each other to death last night during an argument, investigators in the Russian city of St. Petersburg said Monday.

“The investigation is currently ongoing with the involvement of the two remaining guards. The shots were fired in the cabin of the car. None of the money was stolen,” local investigators said in a statement.

A murder investigation was opened after the discovery of the bodies last night in an armored car in central St. Petersburg. The four guards were transporting 200 million rubles ($6 million) in cash for deposit in Russia’s central bank. The bodies of the driver and another guard were discovered an hour and a half after the group left a branch of Otkritie bank, investigators said.
