MOSCOW, November 3 (RIA Novosti) – Two Russian counter-narcotics police officers have been hospitalized after they were found unconscious because of suspected drug overdose, media reports said Sunday.

Russia's Federal Drug Control Service has confirmed that the officers who were tasked to transport drugs seized during an operation were discovered “unconscious” in a car in north Moscow on Saturday.

Russian tabloid website Life News said a bag containing 100 kilograms of Afghan hashish was found in the car. The report said the officers could have “fallen victims” of unknown attackers who were aware that they were carrying drugs. An investigation is ongoing.
