A few interesting photos of Christian churches of Alan-Byzantine culture built back in the IX-X centuries in Karachay-Cherkessia, Russian Federation.










Alania was a unique country of many religions. Some Alans christianised, others had preferred Muslim religion back before the the Mongol invasion. “Alaniya” was a city between Abkhaz and Kipchak steppes, it had a lot of Muslims.
