MOSCOW, September 3 (RIA Novosti) - A family couple from the southern Russia was arrested on suspicion of killing and dismembering their landlady to avoid paying rent, the Russian Investigative Committee said on Monday.

The woman was unaccounted for more than a month, but her husband declared her missing only last Thursday. Her dismembered body was recovered near the town of Georgiyevsk the following day.

“According to the data obtained by investigators, the woman arrived to the town of Georgiyevsk on July 21, 2013 to collect rent from tenants, who lived in her apartment. The issue sparked a row with the family couple living there, in which the young people strangled the apartment owner,” the Russian Investigative Committee said in a statement.

Investigators believe that the young people dismembered the body, packed body fragments in two bags and buried in two different locations in order to conceal the crime.
