MOSCOW, August 14 (RIA Novosti) – Two men in southern Russia abducted another man, chained him to a dog kennel and demanded money from him for birds that he had allegedly stolen, a police source told RIA Novosti on Wednesday.

A man in the Rostov Region city of Novoshakhtinsk complained to the police on August 13 that he had been abducted the day before by two men on a motorbike.

The men took him to a house, where “having put him on a chain, they kept him in a dog kennel, demanding money for pigeons he had stolen earlier. The captive was able to escape by himself,” the police source said, adding that the abductors had been detained.
