2013/08/27

MOSCOW, August 27 – A Moscow court on Tuesday rejected a 15 million ruble ($455,000) lawsuit filed by a victim of a 2011 terrorist attack at Domodedovo Airport, her lawyer said.

The victim, Yelena Krivolutskaya, 49, was in the airport's international arrivals hall on January 24, 2011, when a suicide bomber detonated a bomb, killing 37 people and injuring 172.

Krivolutskaya, 49, was heavily injured and taken to an intensive care unit. She had to undergo several operations and eventually lost her capacity to work and was granted an official disabled status.

He lawyer, Igor Trunov, told the RAPSI legal news agency that he would appeal the court’s ruling. Krivolutskaya is seeking the settlement from the airport.

Investigators suspect Chechen rebel Doku Umarov of directing an organized criminal group that planned the attack. The alleged bomber, Magomed Yevloyev, is thought to have trained at a terrorist camp in Ingushetia.
