KRASNOYARSK, July 17 (RIA Novosti) – Police in the Russian city of Krasnoyarsk have confiscated live ammunition from a garden shack where its lady owner had stored it, a local Interior Ministry spokesman said on Wednesday.

The police were informed Wednesday morning that military munitions were being stored at a country shack in the city’s Sverdlovsk district, spokesman Vladimir Yurchenko said.

“The police who arrived at the scene found six military projectiles near a garden house. As it turned out, the woman who owns the garden plot had over a long period discovered and stored munitions near her shack,” Yurchenko said.

Alarmed neighbors told the police when they noticed the impromptu munitions dump, the spokesman said.

“The garden plots are located close to a former firing range where munitions were previously disposed of,” he said.

The police took the munitions away for later disposal by sappers, he said.
