MOSCOW, February 28 (RIA Novosti) - French President Francois Hollande will on Thursday discuss a wide range of issues on the global and regional agenda with the Russian leadership during his visit to Russia, the presidential press service reported Thursday.
The Kremlin earlier reported that Hollande was expected to arrive in Russia on February 27 and stay through February 28. The visit takes place on an invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Putin and Hollande will discuss bilateral trade, energy, investment, industrial, high-tech and humanitarian cooperation, as well exchange opinions on urgent international issues, including Russia-EU interaction, the situation in Syria and Mali, the fight against drug trafficking and international terrorism.
Hollande assumed the office of the French president in May 2012. It will be his first visit to Russia as France’s head of state.
