MOSCOW, May 8. /TASS/. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan called on Friday to expand the geography of cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
"I think it necessary to go on expanding geography of cooperation southwards, in particular, to establish closer relations with Iran. Also, it is necessary to focus attention on large-scale regional infrastructure projects linking Southeast Asia and the Persian Gulf with countries of the Eurasian Economic Union," he said at the first meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
"In this context, there is special potential in establishing relations with the BRICS countries, where Russia is playing a key role," Sargsyan said, adding that cooperation with China as a key EAEU trade partner had a big potential.
