Two 5000 notes were cut into two pieces and all identification parts were cut out. Each of these pieces were connected with parts of notes of smaller denomination and the terminal accepted them as two separate notes and transfered 10 000 rubles to the account of the counterfeiter. This operation does not look very simple so the man probably knew enough about such things.
