Today was a May Day in Russia and it was a day off. The tradition for it to be a day off comes from Soviet times and for the Soviet people it was not just a day off but also a day of “demonstration”. Such were called the parades people were doing on the holidays, partly by the own will, partly because they were forced by state to participate. These are the photos of one of those “demonstrations” from the May Day of 1970s.

Glass dome, qr codes, what is this all about? A whole QR code house was built in one of Moscow parks. Almost all of its internal surfaces covered with qr codes. From time to time they flash and highlight in random order to attract the attention of the visitors. Visitors are being handled a handheld to scan them up. Then they get some sort of information and other things thru the scanned code. I don’t find the idea to be particularly useful, however it seems to look pretty cool for me.
A group of people in masks stormed the prosecutors office in Donetsk, Ukraine. After the building was captured, the Ukrainian flags were burned and their own flag was hoisted. They tell that around thirty people were hurt as a result of the event.
A photographer Marina takes a ride on a Russian military helicopter Mi-8 from Cubinka, 60 kilometers from Moscow and flying around. What she was able to see? Other military helicopters taking off and landing, rusty abandoned helicopters staying in the field, huts and houses, sawmills and hundred year old wooden structures, also the Victory Day infantry parade preparation and some more.
