Open-pit coal mining is a comparatevely cheap and simple technology but the harm it causes to the planet is enormous. So those people, who live in proximity to open cuts of coal, can be felt sorry for. But there is a minor advantage they have – they can see alien landscapes long before the first earthlings land on the Mars!
