Such yards are usually locked from outside and one has to make a universal key or wait for someone to come out to get inside. But why would anyone need it? Because it’s cool to look up at the sky through buildings or so-called “wells”. Tourists usually skip this peculiar attraction of the city, but it’s one of the brightest urban features of St. Petersburg.
