YEREVAN, July 6. /TASS/. At least 46 protesters were detained on the Marshal Baghramyan Avenue, in downtown Yerevan, on Monday and taken to police stations, the head of the Armenian police press service has said.

Six underage citizens were among them who were immediately released, Ashot Agaronyan said. "The others will also walk free and even no acts on administrative offences will be compiled against them," he stressed.

"Police have taken measures to unblock the Marshal Baghramyan Avenue," he said, adding that "the participants of the protest have shown understanding" towards the police actions.

Earlier on Monday, Yerevan’s police unblocked one of the main roads in the country’s capital clearing it from the barricades set up by protesters against the hike in electricity prices and later pushing the demonstrators aside from the traffic lane.
