MOSCOW, June 18. /TASS/. The Russian football needs changes to achieve good results, Russian Railways (RZD) President Vladimir Yakunin told TASS on Thursday.
"It is time for changes in Russian football," said Yakunin, a member of the executive committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU).
He added that Fabio Capello, the head coach of the Russian national football team, should be responsible for the results of his work.
A football source told TASS on Tuesday that the contract with the Italian coach who had taken over the national team in 2012 would be most likely terminated in the wake of Russia's 0-1 home defeat to Austria in their Euro-2016 qualifier.
RFU acting President Nikita Simonyan said that Capello’s future work with the team will be decided at the next session of the RFU Executive Committee set for June 24.
