MOSCOW, May 18. /TASS/. Investigators have charged Russian real estate tycoon Sergey Polonsky deported from Cambodia with major embezzlement, a spokesperson for the Interior Ministry said on Monday.
Polonsky was detained on his yacht in Cambodia on Friday on charges of staying in the Southeast Asian country with an expired visa. He was deported to Moscow on Sunday evening wearing just a T-shirt and shorts and immediately taken to custody.
Polonsky who was visited in jail by Moscow journalist Eva Merkacheva told her that he had wanted to return to Russia "under different circumstances" and complained that it was very cold in the cell.
