Kremlin comments on Poroshenko's gratitude to leaders not attending Moscow VE-day parade

2015/05/08

MOSCOW, May 8. /TASS/. The Kremlin says Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko should be grateful, first and foremost, to Ukrainian war veterans for their contribution to the Victory rather than to the foreign leaders who didn’t come to Moscow for Victory Day celebrations.

"We would very much like Ukraine’s president to thank war veterans in his country for their feats in the liberation of Ukraine from Nazism," Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters. He thus answered a question on the Kremlin’s reaction to Poroshenko’s words of gratitude addressed to the foreign leaders who didn’t come to Moscow for May 9 celebrations.
