2014/10/30

MOSCOW, October 30 (RIA Novosti) – The leader of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has announced a new airport will be built in the capital of the republic.

"Prominent businessmen, politicians, scientists and artists regularly visit Grozny. The city hosts forums and scientific conferences featuring representatives of dozens of countries. Of course, our guests need comfortable conditions. The most important thing is that air traffic has risen. So you all will be welcome in a new Grozny airport – a miracle of architecture," Kadyrov wrote on his Instagram.

The current international airport, "Grozny", is located in the northern part of the capital.

He also noted that "the project will be implemented with attracting off-budget investment."

Kadyrov added that he has personally inspected the redevelopment process of the proposed ground for the airport and is hopeful the new airport will be "the most beautiful and comfortable" in Russia.
