MOSCOW, September 2 (RIA Novosti) - The final round of the competition of military bands of the Russian Armed Forces will be held September 2-6 in Moscow, according to the press service of the Defense Ministry.
"In the final round of the competition, Eleven best orchestras from various military districts will perform a music program of patriotic compositions, world classics, and folk songs. The final stage of this music competition will begin in Moscow on September 2, at the Central Academic Theatre of the Russian Army. On September 3, the teams will perform the military repertoire on Red Square. The final concert of the winners of the contest will be held on September 5, at 6.00 p.m. Moscow time (14:00 GMT), at the Grand Hall of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory," the press service reported.
The best orchestra will be given the opportunity to perform on Red Square during the International Military Music Festival "Spasskaya Tower-2014" on September 4 and 6.
The first round of the competition was held in October 2013. It was attended by more than 50 military bands. Only 11 participants reached the final round.
