Once Abandoned Salt Mine

2014/05/22

A few pics from once abandoned salt mine village in Altai region of Russia. As Dmitriy, the blogger, tells In 1970s this place had almost 2,000 inhabitants, most of them supported by the working salt mine in the village. In 1990s the place went bankrupt, the salt from this village couldn’t compete with cheaper salt from elsewhere. Lately people again returned to place but salt production can’t be compared to the previous volumes.
