New Helicopter Carriers For the Russian Navy

Two new helicopter carrier ships are being built by the French company DCNS for the navy of Russia. One will be called “Vladivostok” and will become a ship of the Pacific Fleet in November, 2014. Another one, “Sevastopol” will join the same fleet in 2015. The construction is being carried out with participation of Russian companies.


The ships are intended to carry combat helicopters Ka-52.
