NOVOSIBIRSK, October 13 (RIA Novosti) – Police in Siberia have launched a search and rescue operation for four men who set off to go fishing five days ago, and never returned, local police say.

Two men from the Siberian city of Novosibirsk and two from the nearby Suzunsky Region set off by car on a fishing trip to the river Ob, but have not been heard from since, police say.

“During the search operation, officers searched the Ob floodplain and stretches of riverbank from the village of Lower Suzun to the village of Taradanovo,” the police statement says, noting that their car and belongings were found by the river.
