SAMARA, October 13 (RIA Novosti) – At least 12 people were killed and three injured in a head-on collision between a light commercial vehicle (LCV) and a minibus in the Volga area, rescuers said on Sunday.
Those injured are in critical condition, Samara Region police spokesman Sergei Goldshtein said.
An investigation continues. According to initial reports, a Toyota minibus drove onto the oncoming lane and hit a Mercedes LCV en route from Kazakhstan.
Both vehicles fell into a roadside ditch and the minibus caught fire.
Rescue works are still under way on the site of the tragedy.
