MOSCOW, August 11 (RIA Novosti) – Unidentified individuals tried to blind the pilots of three airliners landing at the Moscow-based Sheremetyevo international airport, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry said on Sunday.

Police received information on Saturday night that “unidentified persons blinded with laser three planes heading for landing at the Sheremetyevo airport. Lasers were pointed at the passenger jets presumably in the area of the village of Nikolskoye,” the spokesman said, without giving any further details.

No one was hurt in the incidents and the pilots managed to land the planes safely, the spokesman said, adding the police were searching for the offenders.

The Russian aviation watchdog Rosaviatsia told RIA Novosti it had no information about the incidents.
