Battle For Stalingrad: 70 Years After

19th of November, 1942. 7:30 a.m.


The air over Stalingrad started shaking. Volleys of thousands of artillery shells marked the beginning of the “Uranus” operation – a counter-offensive one, which became a radical turn in the Second World War.


Seventy years have passed and last Sunday there was held a reconstruction in Volgograd devoted to that battle.

Six hours remain before the start.










The Romanians came from Bucharest to participate in the event.













We can see T-34 tanks though they didn’t participate in that battle.
















They are rehearsing.






The storm operation is rehearsed.

Some dozens of hospitals were on the territory of Stalingrad.





The Germans are attacking!










The first victims start to appear.













It was really loud!












There began a lightning storm of Soviet troops.






We have won!
