MOSCOW, October 14. /TASS/. Ravil Gaintudin, the head of the Russian Mufti Council, has donated 3 million rubles (over $47,000) on the construction of a mosque in Simferopol, Crimea’s capital, the council’s press service said on Wednesday.

"We assign priority to the support of Crimean Tatars," the council quoted Gaintudin as saying. "We managed to implement many projects useful for Crimean Muslims."

The construction of the mosque awaited for 12 years by Crimean Tatars started in Simferopol in late September. The building will be able to accommodate around 4,000 worshippers.
